Diamond Vortex is unlike any slot you’ve ever played before, as Play’n Go utilise Cluster Pays and a hexagonal play board for a wholly unique experience. It looks like we’re in a distant galaxy, as a purple and blue spiral is clearly visible behind the play board. There are 37 symbols across 7 reels, and the middle reel is the largest with 7 symbols, The sound effects present here are quite mysterious, adding to the exciting feel around this slot, and there’s everything from rotating rings to Free Spins to get to grips with here - fasten your seatbelts, because we’re ready for blast off!
How to play
The play board takes up the centre of the screen. It’s hexagonal, with reels becoming shorter as we move to the outside of the shape. There are 37 symbols altogether, with the middle symbol always being the Core Wild - this substitutes all regular symbols. To win, you just need to match 6 or more of the same symbol in a cluster - as a result, the potential prizes can vary greatly. From a £1 spin, you can win as little as 10p and as much as £100, depending on how many symbols are in your cluster, and how valuable they are! Winning symbols are removed from the board with new ones falling down, while the hexagon has 3 rings - after you win, each ring will rotate once, moving Spots and symbols into new positions. Watch out for the Sticky Wilds too - these gravitate to the Core Wild when winning, and substitute for all regular symbols. Each time the Core Wild absorbs one, its Multiplier increases by 1x.
Each ring has a Zone and a Spot - when a Spot or a Bonus symbol enters a Zone, a Bonus feature will be triggered. Spots follow the direction of rotation, and activate rings via Zones - activated rings are transformed into a randomly chosen symbol to create a new winning cluster, and up to 3 rings can be activated at the same time, so you could have a play board full of the same symbol! You can also collect Bonus symbols via Zones, and each one will get you 5 Free Spins. You can win up to 5000x your bet, as the Core Wild Multiplier and Spot positions carry over between multiple spins - from a £1 spin, £5000 sounds pretty nice, doesn’t it?
