5 steps to help you stay in control
We want you to have fun here – proper fun. Gambling is entertainment, not a way to make money, and it should never feel like a chore or a worry. The best way to keep it that way is staying in control of your own play, not the other way round.
We're upfront about the risks that come with gambling, and we give every player the tools to manage them. Here are five ways to stay in the driving seat.
We'll also check in with you now and again, just to make sure everything's OK and you're still enjoying yourself.
1. Set a Financial Limit
Limits
Decide what you can afford, and stick to it. You can set a daily, weekly or monthly limit on your account whenever you like – before your first deposit, or any time after.
All limits apply to set calendar periods: daily limits reset at midnight, weekly limits run Monday to Sunday, and monthly limits run from the 1st to the last day of each calendar month.
There are two types, and you can use either or both:
- Net deposit limit – what you deposit, minus anything you withdraw, over the period you choose.
- Deposit limit – a straight cap on what goes in, regardless of what comes out.
Lower your limit and it applies straight away. Raise it or remove it, and there's a 24-hour cooling-off period first – time to change your mind if you need it. You'll then need to confirm the change again before it takes effect.
If more than one type of limit is active on your account, the strictest limit is always the one that applies.
We'll prompt you to set a limit at least once a year, and to check your account activity every six months.
Visit your account to set or change your Spend Limit(s) or access our FAQs Page for more information.

2. Keep it real
Reality checks
Time gets away from everyone. Set a reality check and we'll give you a nudge on screen after a set period – anywhere from 30 minutes up to 4 hours
From there, it's your call: stop, or carry on. If you carry on, we'll check in again once the next period's up, so you always know how long you've actually been playing.
Visit your account to set or change your Reality Check or access our FAQs Page for more information.
3. Be honest with yourself
Keep track
How much have you spent today? This week? This month? Your transaction history and game history sit in your account, so you can see exactly what's gone in and out, whenever you want to look.
Visit your account to access your Transaction History, where you can filter through different time periods, or you can look at your Game History.
If the numbers surprise you, that's worth paying attention to. Consider setting a limit or checking our the self-assessment questions below.
Self-assessment
To keep on top of your gambling, it’s good to stop every now and again to ask yourself some of the questions below.
- Do you sometimes gamble for longer than you intend to?
- Have you ever used money that was saved for something else, or to try and win back what you lost?
- Do you sometimes lose track of time when you’re playing?
- Do other people say that you spend too much time playing?
- Do you devote time to playing when you should be doing something else?
- Have you ever lost more money than you intended to?
- Do you bet or play to give yourself a break, or get away from everything else?
- When you finish betting or playing how do you feel – is it a bad feeling?
- Has gambling ever left you short of money?
- Do you feel irritated if you haven’t played in a while?
If you're answering yes more often than not, take that seriously. Use the tools on this page, and get in touch with one of the organisations listed at the end of this policy.

4. Take some time out or exclude
If you feel like you need a break from gambling you can apply a Time-Out or Self-Exclusion on your account. During this time you won’t be able to log-in or access your account.
Time-Out
Set a time-out for anywhere between 24 hours and 6 weeks. Your account reactivates on its own once the period ends – no action needed from you, and no contact from us while you're away.
You can apply a Time-Out in your account yourself, or if you prefer, contact us at [email protected].
Self-exclusion
Operator exclusion
Need longer than a time-out? Self-exclusion is there for that. Choose 6 months, 9 months, 1 year, or 5 years.
Once it's in place, it's in place – it can't be reversed or shortened. We'll close your account, take you off our marketing list completely, and refund any balance over £1 to your original payment method, once any necessary checks are complete.
We’ll also remove you from our marketing lists, so you won’t receive any communication from us during your exclusion. We'd also recommend you also self-exclude with any other gambling sites you use. GAMSTOP, below, lets you do that in one go.
You can apply a Self-Exclusion in your account yourself, or if you prefer, contact us at [email protected].
Once you have self-excluded this cannot be reversed and your account cannot be reactivated until the time period has elapsed. Wanting to come back once your exclusion ends isn't automatic. You'll need to contact us, and we'll arrange a call to talk it through before your account reopens. Any return is subject to a 24-hour cooling-off period, a full review of your account, and a financial limit to help ease you back in.
National exclusion
MrQ is registered with GAMSTOP, the UK's National Online Self-Exclusion Scheme. One request through GAMSTOP excludes you from every participating gambling site in the UK, for six months, one year or five years.
This means that once you’re registered with GAMSTOP and your exclusion has been confirmed, you won’t be able to sign up or log in to any participating operator’s gambling site for the period of your exclusion.
For more information visit: www.gamstop.co.uk - or call their free helpline on 0800 138 6518 (opening hours 08:00 am - midnight) for more information.
5. Get help & support
Want to talk through any of the tools on this page, or anything else? Email us at [email protected]. We might also reach out to you now and again, just to check everything's OK and you're happy with how things are going.
You can stop yourself accessing gambling sites completely by installing anti-gambling software on your computer. For more information visit: GamBlock or Gamban.
