A truly cinematic experience, Skywind have brought the popular Resident Evil movie series to the video slot world with Resident Evil 6 - and there’s enough here to attract both fans of the series and those who aren’t as familiar. You’ll hear the trademark tense and dramatic music you’d expect, and there are some stunning realistic graphics - the screen is split in two, so you’ve got the play board at the bottom and then intricate animated scenes above it. In the background is a scary dark blue setting, and it all helps to set the scene. Can you work with characters on their bonus features, or will you back out before you get the chance?
How to play
Though not taking up too much of the screen, the play board has plenty going on, and it looks pretty normal, with 5 reels and 25 paylines. Most of the symbols are weapons and other artefacts used by the cast, and they pay out in varying amounts - from a 75p spin, you could get anything from 15p to £45 just by matching regular symbols. Then there’s the Scatter symbol, which pays out but is multiplied by the total bet, and the Wild symbol, which is the most valuable of the lot. From the same 75p bet, a combination of 5 Wild symbols would get you £90! The Wild also substitutes for all symbols apart from the Scatter symbol, so it can be a part of numerous wins...
If you can get the Scatter symbol to land fully on the middle reel, you’ll be laughing. When it lands on reel 3, it powers the reel up for the following 3 spins - if another Scatter symbol fully lands on reel 3 during the spins, you’ll get an additional 3 too! There are 4 features to get here, and to trigger them you just need one of the characters to fully land on reel 3 during one of these spins. If Ada lands on reel 3, you’ll trigger the Monster Hunt Bonus - this is a 4-level bonus game where you need to crack codes by matching green lights. This will award you Multipliers, and the higher the level, the higher the cash prize. If you get Chris instead, you’ll unlock Rappel Expanding Wilds - this gives you 6 Free Spins, during which Chris will rappel down the reels giving you 2 Expanding Wilds before each Free Spin. Next up, there’s Jake’s Ustanak Random Wilds - this again gets you 6 Free Spins. Before each one, Jake will battle Ustanak, which will add from 2 to 5 Random Wilds to the reels. Finally, again with 6 Free Spins, is Sticky Wild Zombies, which Leon triggers. When your Free Spins begin, Leon will shoot the zombie, creating from 2 to 5 Sticky Wilds which will stay in place for the rest of the feature!
